FlatPress contact page allows your blog site readers to send you an e-mail without you publishing your e-mail address. To use this feature mail() needs to be enabled by your webhost for your website. This component is sometimes referred to as sendmail. The e-mail account used is specified on the admin panel > option page.
Currently, FlatPress does not support SMTP/FSockOpen.
If you are unable use the mail(). You do have another option. They are quite a few providers of free contact pages that you can link to from your blog site. They vary on their features but they all protect your e-mail address from spammers.
For a list of six providers of free contact pages see this external post Six Free Contact Page Providers
If you have FSockOpen and your really want to use it for your own contact page see this external link HOWTO: A Contact form WITHOUT sendmail enabled
